$8 Million Dollar Renovation – Children’s Park in Downtown San Diego

The downtown San Diego park that is in front of the Children’s museum is getting a facelift. That’s right! Who currently uses this park besides the homeless? Nobody. Well, that’s about to hopefully change after an $8 million dollars renovation. The plan is to leave the existing fountain, that currently baths the homeless, and add a walkway through the fountain. The nearby “forest” will be cut down and replaced with adult exercise equipment, off leash dog park, vendor kiosk, picnic and lawn area and public restrooms.

Pinnacle is a downtown San Diego condo complex that overlooks the Children’s park. You know they have to be thrilled about this renovation. Of the $8 million, $6.6 million will go towards construction costs and $1.4 million will go towards permits and staffing. They should throw in a million for me…just because. lol I don’t know about you but I’m happy with this plan. I’ve always thought that this current park was a waste of space since nobody but the homeless used it and it’s prime real estate in downtown San Diego.
